August 10 Psalm 94:1-11 1 Corinthians 6 2 Chronicles 1

Please read the suggested passages, prayerfully consider them, and the questions below. My comments here may be helpful after those moments. The suggested daily reading is for the purpose of reading through the whole Bible within a year.
Reading the Bible is helpful in taking next steps to follow Jesus. It may not be easy and yet it can be rewarding. Digging into Scripture alongside people you know is a life-giving way to pursue answers together. We discover the love that God has for us has been expressed through Jesus.
• What’s the plain simple truth of the verses you read?
• Based on today’s reading, what is one thing God is saying to you?
• What should you do about that truth?

August 10 Psalm 94:1-11 1 Corinthians 6 2 Chronicles 1
Psalm 94:1-11 Psalm 94 starts with a call for God to bring justice. It is foolish to think God does not see what we do or hear what we say. Some people do wrong because they don’t believe that God cares about it. Does God even see this? Yes. Our God is alive, aware, and active.
1 Corinthians 6 Paul instructs believers to avoid lawsuits if at all possible. We should see conflict resolution among ourselves. As followers of Jesus, we are choosing to live every day by trusting in God, turning from our mistakes, and choosing a lifestyle focused on God. This is possible as we receive God’s love for us that we do not deserve by His grace for us through our faith in Jesus as Savior. We should receive His forgiveness of our sin, which includes the removal of our guilt and a restoration of our relationship with Him. This is why we must follow His guidance for our lifestyle. We must honor God with our bodies and avoid sexual sin.
2 Chronicles 1 Above all, Solomon wanted to lead God’s people in the best way possible. God responded by giving him wisdom, opportunity, favor, authority, and wealth. Servant leadership is the way that God provides for. It is the way that God honors.
