church note COVID19

12 03 2020

Hello church family,

As a precaution, we will not meet this Sunday morning. Our message will be available at

   and Pastor’s daily posts at
Please let us know if you have a neighbor with food insecurity and are able to deliver groceries. We have some food available.

Most likely your life has now been impacted in some way by the news of COVID-19. Our kids will now be home from school for a while. Please know that Pastor Rebecca and I pray for you regularly. We are available to talk, as you are able. We love to hear how we can best serve you and pray for you. We’re available by phone, text, and a video messaging app called Marco Polo.

Please exercise good common sense practices related to your health. God gave us the ability to learn. This includes all things scientific and medical. We should learn from qualified sources of information.

Until Jesus returns, disease and suffering are part of our broken world. God wants us to pray for others with compassion. Miracle healing is possible with God. Let’s pray for miracles.

God does not give us fear, as a controlling influence in our lives. As we draw on our personal relationship with God, we will find spiritual strength, increased ability, and the ability to control our thoughts. 2 Timothy 1:7 speaks to this. In this ever-changing situation, we will be learning daily and making decisions. Let’s be sure to balance our input of information about this challenge with positive encouraging truth about God’s love. We can take this on and focus our thoughts on life-giving truth. Please read Philippians 4:4-9.

Please consider every opportunity that you have to interact with someone else as a valuable moment to speak life-giving words to them, in the face of these circumstances. Some of my favorite Baltimore moments have been meeting neighbors for the first time while shoveling snow or cleaning up neighborhood garbage. Unusual challenges bring exceptional opportunities.

This is a wonderful opportunity to use our voices for speaking hope!

Pastor Rebecca and I love you! Rest well. God loves you!
