Proverbs 6:30-35
We read about the pain, brokenness, and results of sexual sin. There is wisdom for us to discover when we consider the outcome of infidelity. Our Creator designed us for a lifelong commitment of faithful love for our spouse. This is the best way to enjoy married life. Proverbs tells us that there are consequences for adultery.
Mark 14:43-72
Judas gave the religious leaders of Jerusalem the opportunity they were looking for. Pain and suffering are part of the story of Jesus. We see Jesus betrayed and arrested. They couldn’t find something to accuse Jesus of so they had to falsely accuse Him, by twisting His words. Jesus confirms His identity as Messiah. This is the point of contention. It is a tipping point. It is the issue that triggered the plot to kill Jesus. He revealed Himself to be the Messiah. This should be most important to us. Jesus makes it clear that He is the Son of God. One day we will see a victorious Jesus at the right hand of Father God. Personal relationship is seen within the Trinity. We are given an invitation into this eternal relationship of love. Peter remembers the way that Jesus predicted his betrayal. Peter weeps with remorse. Jesus had prepared Peter for restoration.
Leviticus 19; 20
God our Creator wants us to become more like Him. In Leviticus God calls His people to live their lives in a holy way, to that end. We should understand who we are and act like a child of God, with good stewardship, and respect for others. We must remember that God is the one who has delivered us. We should not live in ways that are selfish and focused only on this temporary natural life. We must be careful to only worship our Creator God. We should pay attention to God’s warning against spiritual prostitution, promiscuity in regards to what we worship.
