March 10  Psalm 31:19-24  Mark 15:1-32  Leviticus 21; 22

Psalm 31:19-24

What have I learned? David has considered this question. He has seen God pour out goodness on those who rely on God. He has learned that the presence of God is life-giving and it brings change. David offers a song for the congregation of believers. Everyone who looks to God as their source of hope can be strong with confidence. As we love God, putting our hope in the Lord, we will find shelter in His presence.

Mark 15:1-32

We can be comforted and protected. We can find strength and courage. This is possible because Jesus endured being personally betrayed, falsely accused, sentenced by Pilate (in favor of a murderer), publicly mocked, beaten, tortured, and crucified. That is what Jesus went through for us. He took our sin on Himself. He suffered a broken relationship with the Father. He did this so that we may receive forgiveness and new life. Reading the full life story of Jesus Christ repeatedly keeps me in a posture of humble gratitude. Let’s spend time today in prayer, thanking the Lord Jesus for all that He went through so that we can know true love. Let’s thank Jesus for choosing the will of Father God. Let’s thank Jesus for enduring all of this, setting our forgiveness of sin as a priority. Thank You, Jesus our Savior!

Leviticus 21; 22

God says, “I the Lord am holy and I make you holy.” We must remember that our many spiritual activities are not what makes us holy. It is only God who makes us holy. It is God our Creator who shows us love, who cleanses us, who removes our guilt, who restores us. In Leviticus, we see that the priests were to be focused, set aside for the purpose of serving God and helping the relationship between the people and God. They were instructed to practice good stewardship. God wanted the people to care about the quality of what they brought in sacrifice to Him. God calls His people into faithfulness following His example of faithfulness. This includes following His direction. It is specific guidance within the context of personal relationship.
