Please join us in praying for Pastor Frank Damazio He’s the pastor of CBC in Portland City Bible Church and the leader of our network of churches MFI. He has a treatable form of lymphoma and started chemo this week.

City Bible Church is launching a web based approach to making the most current information available to everyone so that we can all be praying informed prayers. It will also provide a way for us to express our love and support for Pastor Frank and his family.

To access this, go to the blog on the City Bible Church website by going to http://www.citybiblechurch.org/pfupdate. This will be the place where new information is first posted and it will enable us to be praying together in unity for him. He has already expressed that he feels our support and prayers. Please feel free to let Pastor Frank know you are praying for him by leaving a comment on his Facebook page, on the blog or by tweeting him and using the hashtag “Standing with PF”. #standingwithpf

God desires grace for all

10 04 2014

God wants all men to be saved.  That grace (good which we do not deserve) is the love of God, available to us through Jesus!

As Jesus followers, we have an opportunity to pray for those who do not yet believe. It is the desire of God that all repent and come to salvation.

Let’s walk through what the Bible has to say about this and consider what is possible!

2 Peter 3:9  God does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

1 Timothy 2:3-4  God wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

John 3:16  God loves the whole world. This is why He sent Jesus. So that anyone who believes will be saved.

Acts 2:21 Romans 10:13  Anyone who repents and believes will be saved.

1 John 5:11-12  God has given us eternal life through His Son. Anyone one who has Jesus, has eternal life.

1 John 2:2  Jesus paid the price for the sin of the whole world.

Psalm 68:19-20  Our God is a God who saves! He is the God of salvation!

Psalm 96:1-2  We should declare the truth that God saves!

Romans 1:16  Everyone who believes is saved, through faith.

Mark 16:16  Anyone who believes will be saved.

Titus 2:11  The grace of God can bring salvation to anyone.

Matthew 16:24-25; 22:36-40; 28:18-20 Mark 16:15-16  We have a responsibility to live for Jesus, love people, and lead them into next steps in following Jesus (and them leading others to do the same).

Luke 24:45-49  The message of, “there is forgiveness for all who repent,” must be declared.

Isaiah 55:7  As we turn to God, He will forgive generously.

1 Timothy 2:5-6  Jesus gave His life to pay the ransom price for everyone.

2 Timothy 2:24-26  God is gracious and wants to work through us to mercifully draw unbelievers to Himself.

Scripture  Observation  Application  Practice

What do you hear?         What do you see?          What do you think/feel?              What is being said?

What truth do you see/hear?       How does this make a difference?                       Why does this matter?

How do you apply that to your life?          What can you do about that this week?    What principle can be used?
