Winning Faith

Winning faith – “In God, I have strength beyond the challenge.”

Paul writes in Romans 8:37-39 “…in all this we are more than conquerors, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us,”

What does this “more than conquerors” or “overwhelming victory” mean?

To be completely and overwhelmingly victorious. To prevail completely.

Conquer – to gain the victory        (I did not have the victory, but now I do.)

Prevail – to prove superior in strength, to succeed, to win out, strength beyond the challenge.

“In all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us.” Rom 8:37

This means that, with the help of Jesus, you can have strength to outlast your challenge.

Let’s look at a few other verses that carry this truth:

I will overcome my enemies because He who is in me is greater than He who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

God has not give me a spirit of fear, but of power love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

With God’s help I will do mighty things.  Psalms 60:12

I will be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

How do we do this?

I can run with endurance by keeping my eyes on Jesus. Hebrews 12:1-2

How do we do that?

Falling in love with Jesus by: Look at, listen to, talk to, think about, read about, talk about him.

Interacting with Jesus daily provides us a connection to this strength that we need.

Winning Faith Statements:

I believe: God is in control. God saved me because He loves me. God will be faithful to complete it.

  • I have strength beyond the challenge.
  • I can do all things through Jesus.

Jesus who: loves me. strengthens me. defeats my enemies. is greater than __. rewards those who seek Him.

There is no problem He cannot solve.

There is no question He cannot answer.

There is no disease He cannot heal.

There is no demon He cannot cast out.

There is no enemy He cannot defeat.

There is no difficulty He cannot overcome.

There is no stronghold He cannot bring down.

There is no bondage He cannot break.

There is no prison He cannot open.

There is no need He cannot meet.

There is no mountain He cannot move.

There is nothing too hard for our God!

Tonight is a perfect time to pray for Charleston

23 06 2015

Tonight is a perfect time to pray for the healing, grace, and peace of the Emanuel AME Church family in Charleston. Grieving takes time. Often when a death occurs the most significant time of healing starts after the activities slow down.

Please forgive me for not having led a time of prayer for them this past Sunday morning. We should have stopped everything. Honestly, I intended to but was so excited about what was happening in service that I forgot. Please forgive me. I’ve been commenting on social media, but felt more needed to be said here.

Evil is real. The one true living God is yet overflowing with unfailing love. Much like the Gentile believers of the ancient Mideast, our African American believing brothers and sisters are an often overlooked essential part of the foundation of the church in America (in particular the AME church). We are family. Don’t forget your family. Let’s pray.

Dear God, please pour out your grace and peace on the families who lost loved ones to murder in Charleston. Please bring Dylann to repentance of his sin. Please bring supernatural healing to the Emanuel AME Church family and the Charleston community. Please cover their homes with peace, beyond what they understand, even tonight. Please do a miracle of healing in each neighborhood.
Father God, please bring myself and all US citizens to repentance of racism, the sins of our past, and being lazy about and complacent to the organizational systematic racism in our country. Please forgive us for not righting the wrongs. Please help us identify the needs and meet them. Please bring the healing our nation so desperately needs. Please bring anyone promoting or ignoring racism to repentance.
God please forgive me for where I have done wrong and where I have not done right. Father God please renew our thoughts and attitudes. Thank you for hearing our call and answering our prayer! Amen

Thank you church family for taking the time to pray tonight!
